Lauren Mailey is a Cleveland based artist, non-profit administrator, and community inclusion facilitator/enthusiast. She is the Program Administrator for
Catholic Charities / Diocese of Cleveland - Disability Services, where she coordinates community programs for individuals with diverse abilities including those with intellectual, developmental, and learning disabilities.
Lauren has had the privilege of supporting individuals with diverse abilities and their families for over 10 years. As an intervention specialist, she started out working primarily with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and then moved into the arts non-profit world as a teaching artist and program director at Able Arts Work in Long Beach, California. At Able Arts Work, a therapeutic arts program for adults with developmental disabilities, she discovered her passion for assisting artists with disabilities in pursuing/developing their talents. During this time, she also began to collaborate with community organizations and artists to create inclusive workshops and events for artists.
As a visual artist herself, Lauren has personally experienced the incredible community benefits, for ALL involved, when intentional inclusive spaces are created and sustained. Lauren returned to Cleveland, her hometown, about 2 years ago and is excited to continue to promote and facilitate community engagement and inclusion through the arts where she grew up!
