Interested in cartooning and digital art? In this full day workshop, participants will have the opportunity to learn about both as guest instructors Rachel and Josh Usmani discuss the fundamentals and some advanced practices. Using the digital art hardware and software of your choice, you'll learn how to use these tools to create original characters, settings, and stories for your very own webtoon comic or digital illustration.

We'll discuss the most used tools and processes. This workshop will also touch on subjects like character design, narrative visual storytelling, world building, design iterations, and composition.

This class is perfect for beginners and more experienced artists alike. A limited number of iPads and styluses can be reserved through FIG for use during the workshop on a first come, first served basis. Please ask when registering for the workshop and register today to ensure your iPad reservation! There is no prerequisite, but a strong foundation of drawing skills is recommended, because it won't be the focus of the workshop.

Supplies needed:
  • Bring your own iPad
  • Procreate App (installed on Ipad)
  • FIG's 8 iPads with procreate available on a first come; first served basis
